ＣＨ１３

ＣＨ１３は、中庭を介しての光の採り入れの工夫された平屋一部二階建ての１３番目の専用住宅です。

四畳半の広さの中庭を中心に一階が家族が共に暮らす居間となっており、その一部にキッチンや書斎コーナーが設えられています。浴室洗面トイレは何となく区切られていますが、厳密には区切られておらずつながっています。

一階の床は高さの異なる三種類の素材で作られています。基礎を兼ねたコンクリートの土間、そこより１５ｃｍ高い黒い人研ぎの広場、さらに３５ｃｍ高い智頭杉の板間。それぞれの床で異なる家族の活動がされる場です。

中庭の南側の棟は、ハイサイドライトにより南からの太陽光を採り入れつつ、中庭側の軒を低くして、中庭とその北側の居室に光を届けています。

ＣＨ１３は、構造材である柱・梁を現しとして、建築の骨組みそのものが、家族の暮らす内部空間を包み、守っています。

CH13 is a one-story, partially two-story house with a courtyard that is designed to let in light.

The four-and-a-half tatami mat size courtyard is the center of the living room on the first floor where the family lives together, and the kitchen and study corner are part of the living room. The bathroom and toilet are vaguely separated, but not strictly so.

The floor of the first floor is made of three different materials with different heights. The first floor is made of three materials of different heights: a concrete earthen floor that also serves as the foundation, a black human-ground square that is 15cm higher than the earthen floor, and a Chzu-cedar wooden floor that is 35cm higher. Each “floor” is a place where different family activities take place.

The building on the south side of the courtyard is lit from the south by high sidelights, while the eaves on the courtyard side are lowered to bring light to the courtyard and the rooms on the north side of the courtyard.

In CH13, the columns and beams, which are the structural materials, are exposed, and the architectural framework itself wraps and protects the interior space where the family lives.

ＣＨ１３ 西側外観

南側（写真右側）からの太陽光を１階北側奥の居室まで届ける工夫が「かたち」となっています。縦格子の部分が中庭です。冬の南側からの光は片流れの屋根に沿って差し込み、中庭を介して１階北側（写真左側）の部屋に注ぎます。南棟は隣家の屋根の上から南からの光をハイサイド窓を介して採り入れています。南棟が平屋、北棟が２階建てとなっています。

CH13 West exterior

The idea of transmitting sunlight from the south side (on the right side of the picture) to the living room at the north end of the first floor is the “shape”. The vertical lattice is the courtyard. In winter, light from the south comes in along the single-stream roof and pours into the room on the north side of the first floor (left side of the picture) through the courtyard. It pours into the The south wing lets in light from the south from above the roof of the neighboring house through high side windows. The south wing is single-story and the north wing is two stories.

土間のつながり

屋外から内部まで、コンクリートで作られた「土間」が１階の床となっています。外光の採り入れを兼ねた引戸を開けて、中に入ります。

From the outside to the inside, a concrete “dirt room” serves as the floor of the first floor. Open the sliding door to let the outside light in and enter.

ＣＨ１３　人研ぎの床と中庭

１階はべた基礎を利用したコンクリートの土間と、その上に作られた「人研ぎ」の床、および、智頭杉で作られた板間の３つの高さの異なる床面で構成されています。

中庭を介して注ぐ光が、１階書斎に光の帯を落としています。

On the first floor, there is a concrete earthen floor with a solid foundation, a “human grinding” floor built on top of it, and It consists of three floor surfaces of different heights of plankboards made of chizu cedar.

The light that pours in through the courtyard casts a band of light on the first floor study.

There is a patio deck, a black sharpening square, and a wooden board room on the first floor for the family to relax.

板間よりキッチン方向を見る。

柔らかな厚さ30㎜の杉材（智頭杉の赤身）で作られた板間は居心地の良い場所です。キッチンは、スチールとステンレスで作られました。

The wooden boardroom is a cozy place made of soft 30 mm thick cedar wood (lean flesh of Chizu cedar). The kitchen is made of steel and stainless steel.

ハイサイドライトからの採光

南棟は、横長の高窓より採光します。柱や梁の骨組みが内部空間を力強くも優しく包み込んでいます。

The south wing is lit through a high horizontal window. A framework of columns and beams wraps the interior spaces in a powerful and gentle way.

智頭杉で作られた骨組み（柱・梁）や板間の温かい色味と、人研ぎやコンクリートやスチールの色味が合わさって、居住空間を包んでいます。白壁はセラミック系の構造面材で、建物の外壁を固めています。断熱材はそのさらに外側で建物を包んでいます。

The warm colors of the frame (pillars and beams) made of chizu cedar, and the warm colors of concrete and steel are also used. The colors combine to wrap around the living space. The white wall is a ceramic structural surface material that cements the building’s exterior walls. The insulation wraps the building further out.

人研ぎの広場（土俵）

人研ぎの広場とスロープで場が緩く分けられている。スロープを下ると収納の間を通って水回りへ。左側の収納は椴松三層合板で作られ、右側の収納は照明を兼ねて半透明のアクリル板で作られた。

“Dohyo”

The field is loosely divided into a sharpening area and a ramp. Going down the slope, you can go through the storage furniture to the kitchen. The left side of storage furniture is made of plywood and the right side is made of translucent acrylic panels for lighting.

中庭に出て、取り囲む空間を見る。１階リビングのそれぞれの場が中庭デッキを取り囲んでいるのが分かる。見上げると屋上デッキともつながっており、中庭がこの家の中心であることが分かる。

Step out onto the patio and look at the surrounding space; each place in the first floor living room surrounds the patio deck. You can see that the house is connected to the roof deck. If you look up, you can see that the courtyard is the center of the house.

収納２

夜は居間に灯りを提供する大きな照明器具ともなる収納は、智頭杉の細い柱とアクリル板で作られている。

The storage furniture, which is a large lighting fixture that provides light for the living room at night, is made of thin pillars of the Chizu cedar and acrylic panels .

人研ぎスロープ

水回りと居間は人研ぎ（石粒を入れて現場で磨き上げた素材）のスロープでつながっている。

Slope

The water area and the living room are connected by a ramp made of human grinding (a material that is polished on site with stone grains).

回り階段と吹抜け

階段の四角い吹抜けからも日差しが注ぐ。階段はスチールのみで作られた。

Spiral staircase and atrium

Sunlight also pours in through the square vault of the staircase. The staircase was made entirely of steel.

螺旋階段

構造的な要素のみで作られたシンプルな螺旋階段は、人研ぎスロープと共に場に動きを与えている。

A simple spiral staircase, made entirely of structural elements, gives movement to the place, along with a “Jintogi” ramp.

２階ホール

２階床は、智頭杉の赤身と白太を交互に貼って作られた。２階は屋上デッキとつながっており、南棟の急勾配の片流れの屋根面が、目隠しのような効果でプライバシーを守りつつ、空の広さも感じさせてくれる。

2nd Floor Hall

The second floor is connected to the rooftop deck. The steeply pitched, single-floor roof surface of the south wing provides a blindfolded effective and privacy. The floor was made of alternating red and white of Chizu cedar.

子供室

子供室の面積は小さいが、二つの部屋の間の落葉松三層パネルで作られた引戸を開けての生活もできる。北側の景色を眺める横長の窓と三層パネルで作られたカウンターテーブルも設置された。

children’s room

The area of the children’s room is small, but the sliding door, made of three layers of deciduous pine panels between the two rooms, can be opened. A horizontal window with a view to the north and a three-paneled counter table were also installed.
