通り土間の家

「通り土間の家」は、細長い平面の中央部に南北の屋外をつなぐ土間が設置された住宅です。

「通り土間」は、半外部空間として内部空間に分節を作りつつもつなぎ、玄関としてだけでなく作業や遊びのできる広さを持った土間として、小さな面積の住宅のなかで様々な機能を満たす場として使われています。

This house has a dirt floor in the center of a long, narrow plane, that connects the north and south outdoor spaces.

It is used not only as an entrance but also as a place to work and play, fulfilling various functions in a small house.

北西の小さな角地に建っています。

House with a dirt floor

It sits on a small northwest corner lot.

杉板が隙間を開けて貼られた外壁に、庇や細長い縦横の窓が配置されています。中央部１階に通り土間があります。

North side of the house with earthen flooring (partial)

The exterior walls are covered with cedar boards with gaps between them, with eaves and long and narrow windows. There is a dirt floor on the first floor in the center of the building.

夕方になり、灯りが付くと、スリット窓や通り土間の縦格子から明かりが漏れる。

In the evening, when the lights came on, lights leaked out of the slit windows and the vertical bars of the street mudroom.

通り土間（内部）

通り土間はこの住宅を南北に貫いており、通り抜けもできる。土間には流し台も設置され、半屋外空間でのいろいろな活動に対応する。土間を隔てた和室は、ちょっと離れの様な雰囲気を醸し出している。

Inside of the house

A street_dirt floor runs through this house from north to south, allowing for passage through. There is a sink in the earthen floor, which can be used for various activities in the semi-outdoor space. The tatami room, separated from the earthen floor, creates an atmosphere of a ”separate room”.

通り土間から２階に上がる階段が生えている。階段吹抜けより南よりの太陽光が注ぐ。

Inside of the house

There is a staircase leading up to the second floor of the house. The sunlight pours in from the south through the stairwell.

個室より土間を隔てた和室を見る。

個室の床は杉板貼り。杉の柱がところどころに立つ。

The floor of the private room is made of cedar boards. A few cedar pillars can be seen here and there.

階段を上がる。

写真正面の和室の引戸が閉められている。左側や下部は収納となっている。

Go up the stairs.

The sliding door of the Japanese-style room in front of the photo is closed. The left side and the bottom of the room are used as a storage space.

２階ＬＤＫ

東西に細長い空間の中央部に階段、西側にＤＫ、東側（手前）にリビング。南側にはバルコニーが作られ、上部ハイサイド窓より南の光を採り入れている。

2nd floor LDK

A staircase in the center of the long, narrow space to the east and west, a DK on the west side, and a living room on the east side (in front). A balcony is built on the south side, and the upper high side window lets in the southern light.

キッチン０１

床や天井は木の色、壁は白く塗装された。キッチンカウンターは白とステンレスの組み合わせ。

Kitchen 01

The floors and ceilings were wood colored and the walls were painted white. The kitchen counters are a combination of white and stainless steel.

キッチン０２

キッチンカウンターのステンレスの天板を伸ばして、直ぐ上に横長の細い窓を設置し、手元に光を入れた。

Kitchen02

The stainless steel top of the kitchen counter is extended and a narrow horizontal window is installed right above the counter to provide light at hand.

ダイニング外部

ダイニングのある部屋の角にはコーナーウィンドウが設置された（遠くの鉄道もここから見ることができる）。

Outside of dining room

A corner window was installed in the corner of the dining room (the distant railroad is also seen from here).

ダイニングより居間方向を見る。

勾配天井はシナベニアが目透かしで貼られ、面積は大きくないが天井の高いおおらかな空間となっている。

Looking towards the living room from the dining room.

The sloping ceiling is covered with veneers, and although it’s not large in area, it makes for a generous space with high ceilings. It has become.

白い壁、丸いグレーの階段、床の杉と勾配天井による構成。

It consists of white walls, a round gray staircase, cedar floors and a sloping ceiling.

螺旋階段の曲線の手すり、ハイサイドライトの光、隙間を少し開けて貼られた外壁杉板。

Curved railings on the spiral staircase, high sidelights, and cedar planks on the exterior walls affixed with a slight gap.

ハイサイドライト、杉の束、シナ合板の勾配天井。

High sidelights, cedar bundles, and a sloped ceiling of shina plywood.

居間の白い壁とスリット窓

北面の壁には通風換気のために縦長のスリットまどが設置されたが、壁面を大きく生かすことで、生活の様々な場面に対応できる空間となっている。

White wall and slit window in the living room

A slit window was installed on the north wall for ventilation, and by making the most of the wall, the space can be adapted to various aspects of life.
